What Causes Redness And Peeling Around The Nail In An Infant?
i have a granson aged 15 months about 3 months ago he devoloped a redness in one of his big toes, the skin started to peel around his nail. a visted to the doctors resulted in him being given antibiotics this did not clear it up. he now has it in both big toes and as lost one toe nail i have repeatedly taken him to my local gp who just gives me cream. may i just add this does not seem to cause him any discomfort any idea what it is, and how to treat

Can you send a picture? What all medicines/creams has already been tried? Redness and peeling surrounding nails usually indicates paronychia(fungal infection) and will respond to anti fungal lotion.
I usually gives clotrimazole for 1 month. Kindly get back with details or consult a dermatologist/pediatrician.
