What Causes Redness And Pain Around Upper Molar Tooth?

Hello there,
I am currently having pain in my upper left third molar region (feels like behind my third molar). It has been two days since the pain started, which relieves by warm saline gargles. The area seems to be red, painful and tender (but not ulcerating, no pus) with difficulty in opening my mouth. Its my second day of pain and now I am having slight headache too. Wondering what could be the cause? Should I visit my dentist asap? Any remedies, please?

i wish you had mentioned your age, could be an erupting third molar and the skin around it could be affected. You should visit a dentist how could prescribe you a course of antibiotics and painkillers.Meanwhile you could apply any pain relieving gel like Dologel (In India) or any other such gels available in your region.
