What Causes Redness And Burning Sensation On The Intergluteal Cleft?

First of all this has been happening every few months for several years. I have a dimple at the very top of my butt crack. It has been there as long as I can remember. What happens is the area becomes very red and raw feeling. It burns constantly and is very painful to sit on. There is a clear discharge with a foul odor that is only in the area where the redness is. The red area is no longer just isolated to the dimple. It makes a line about two inches total. Part of it being above the dimple and part being below. I have read about pilonidal cysts and things, but I have no lumps or anything. This seems to flare up after sitting on a hard surface, like bleachers; although it has happened without the hard surface. Honestly I m a married 24 year old female and am very much embarassed by this toward my husband and I really just want it to go away. I have a desk job, so I sit all the time and this makes that very difficult to do.
