What Causes Reddish Color And Pain In The Scrotum?

My scrotum sack is reddish during the day, I've been hanging low mostly. After awakening in the am, it is almost a normal skin color. My doctor looked at an irritated rectum recently and prescribed daily cortison lotion for 14 days. I recently applied it to the scrotum also but still get the reddish color. I have had this reddish color off and on for as long as I can remember. It just seems to cover more of the scrotum now and there is a slight pain from the apparent inflammation. Is this an issue?

Welcome to healthcare magic for your health concerns
I am Dr Fahim and I will be looking into your problem

I have gone through your question and under stood your concerns. It appears to be eczema and in scrotum we usually come across contact dermatitis. Along cortison lotion you need some additional care and treatment which are; keep the area dry and clean, wear loose clothing, apply cortisone lotion twice or thrice daily, take tab cetirizine (anthistamine/antiallergic) 10mg once daily. Use this treatment for another week. If the itching persist beyond 1 week of starting this treatment, then you need to see a dermatologist for expert opinion.

I hope my answer will help you. Do rate it, if you like it.
