What Causes Reddening Inside Upper Lip And Sensitivity Under Tongue?

The inside of my upper lip is reddening along with a not so smooth texture. Underneath my tongue also seems to be sensitive. I'm experiencing cold symptoms as well (Congestion and swollen tonsils). I'm just concerned about what's going on with the inside of my lips. Any ideas?

Thanks for the query..

As per your complain there may be two conditions:

1.It can be Herpes infection causing Cold Sores in which in some cases is processed with cold like symptoms followed by Inflammation of mucous membranes with outbreaks of sores or blisters inside as well as at times outside the mouth..

2.It can be Viral Tonsillitis along with STOMATITIS which is infection in tonsils along with inflammation in mucous membranes of mouth..

You should consult a physician and get evaluated and in case of Herpes Antiviral Medication like Acyclovir , Valacyclovir or Famicyclovir has to be given orally along with antiviral ointment to be applied over the sores..

In case of Viral tonsillitis and stomatitis warm saline gargles, throat lozenges, steam inhalation and taking antibiotic like Azithromycin as there can be secondary Bacterial infection can relieve..
Sucking ice pops and cold water gargles for mouth Inflammation can help..
