Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have red string near the tip of tongue which seems to be due to condition known as transient Lingual Papillitis in which papillae become irritated and slightly swollen due to stress , hormonal changes or hot and spicy food . It generally doesn’t require treatment and clears up within two weeks. Apply dologel on finger and apply on red area of tongue. Do warm saline rinses 2-3 times a day. Take supplements rich in iron, folic acid and vitamin B12 rich tablets for faster recovery. Milk of magnesia and NSAIDS drugs hydroquinone is best treatment remedy option. It will take around 6 weeks for this red string to recover completely. Need not to worry about it. Your symptoms will resolve soon. If your symptoms persists even after that then visit oral pathologist once and get it diagnosed properly and start treatment accordingly.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
