What Causes Red Rashes Radiating From The Left Abdominal Area Towards The Back?
I have a red rash that originated on my upper left abdomen and spreads around my torso on both sides around to my back. I also have some white lines inside my mouth along the front part of my bottom lip that extends slightly into the sides of my mouth. There is no pain associated with either issue, but the rash does itch moderately. I tried taking benadryl thinking it might be an allergic reaction to something, and the abdominal rash seems to improve somewhat with the benadryl, but it does not go away entirely.
Hi. As per your case history you are having a condition called as lichen striatus. My treatment advice is - 1. Avoid scratching the lesions as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild topical steroid cream like mometasone cream on the lesions. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for itching. 4. Other treatment options are oral levamisole, metronidazole and oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
