What Causes Red Rashes On Knees And Elbows During Fever?

19 month old started with fever around 101 yesterday also noted red rash on bottom, thought was diaper rash, and in crevices of knees and elbows. Today fever gone she acts like she feels great and rash is spreading down legs and is on ankles. Any ideas?

Hi.. can you describe the nature of the rash? Where did the rash first begin? Did it occur before or after fever ? Is there history of repeated episodes?Has the.child completed immunization as per date? This presentation can be due to viral exanthem. If the child is doing well and the rash is subsiding then you need not worry. Anytime you find that the rash is not subsiding or is progressive then do visit your pediatrician.
