What Causes Red Rashes On Breast After Mammogram Procedure?

Hi, I had a mammogram 2 days ago and they exerted a lot of pressure to get the images. I had a prickly sensation a couple of hours later and noticed red rashes on my left breast. I am applying some Aloe gel and Aveeno calamine lotion. Is this a common reaction and how should I treat it. Thank you.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Since they exerted a lot of pressure on the breasts, the rash is likely as a result of this trauma to the area.

You can treat symptomatically for now eg if it is painful then use an anti inflammatory pain killer if you have no problem with these medications eg ibuprofen, naproxen, voltaren.

A warm compress may also help to relieve discomfort. This can be done 2 to 3 times daily for 10 to 15 minutes.

Continue the calamine lotion if it is itchy.

I hope this helps
