What Causes Red Patch On Top Of Hairline And Swollen Lymph Nodes On Face?

So it was over this last weekend I noticed that I had a red patch at the top of my hairline. At first I thought nothing of it thinking I d somehow agitated the skin there and that it would heal up eventually. The next day I went to the doctor because the lymph nodes on the right side of my face had swelled and were very sore. The red patch had grown as well. The doctor told me that it was an infection and started me on a week long set of 3 a day antibiotics. Its now the night of day four and while I feel better, and my lymph nodes no longer hurt the patch has grown a bit and there are now bumps on my forehead. Not pimples or white heads, just bumps. They don t hurt to touch but I m slightly worried. Am I healing or is the infection getting worse?

HI
Well come to HCM
Appreciate your concern, if this is the infection and already on antibiotic then it might not be responding to it and in such situation antibiotic need to be changed, you have not mentioned which antibiotic you are on it, second differential diagnosis need to taken in thought, and this could be allergic condition or fungal infection systemic disease also need to be ruled out, hope this information helps, take care.
