Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have red blotches on my upper shoulder almost like pigmentation, I know it isn't due to sun exposure as my shoulders are very rarely exposed to the sun, they don't cause any discomfort physically but looking at them makes me feel uncomfortable. I have had them for quite a few years and don't know how to get rid of it.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe itching under the ribcage while having gallstones. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like acute meningitis , chickenpox , contact dermatitis , discoid eczema or erythema nodosum. I would suggest you to keep the site dry and clean , apply cold compresses to reduce inflammation and redness , take over the counter anti histamine like bendry twice a day and do not apply any cosmetic product . In consult dermatologist if the condition doesn't get better . Doctor may order certain test like allergy test or blood test . Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants along with anti inflammatory and corticosteroid ointment . Doctor may also prescribe antibacterial or antifungal depending upon the diagnosis .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
