I had travelers dirrhea and was treated there and when I returned but I never completely returned back to normal could I still have some sort of infection still.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hai Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Protozoal or bacterial infections can cause such condition. A stool routine examination should be done to rule out such causes. In such case I would suggest antibiotics with combination of ornidazole and ofloxazin along with probiotics like sacharomyces boulardii in my patients. Enough fluids and electrolytes should be taken according to the lose. Taking foods like curd with rice and banana is helpful also. If there is no infection then it can be an attack of inflammatory bowel syndrome. A consultation with gasteroentrologist should be done to rule out this. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
