What Causes Recurring Small Purple Spots On The Arms?
have these small purple spots/rings under the skin on my arms. They come up suddenly, stay for a couple of weeks then go away. They don t hurt, itch or anything just make me look like a purple leopard. My Dr office says it s a mineral deficiency but they don t remember if it s Zinc, Iron, Magnezuim or something els. Can you please tell me which one it is? Thank you
First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, you need to get these spots reviewed by a dermatologist or by your primary care physician as these can be petechiae a may need platelets function tests or platelets counts.
Clotting profile may also be needed. If these are normal, local causes like anaphylactic eruption or contact dermatitis etc. may need to be ruled out.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
