What Causes Recurring Sharp Pain In The Rib Area Radiating To The Hip?

Every so often when I m seated upright i get a sharp cramp like pain on my right side. The area affected would be my rib area down almost to my hip. Sometimes the pain and ache lasts a few seconds and sometimes it causes an episode where it can take me a few minutes to get to a point where I can continue doing whatever it was I was doing. Any advice for treatment would be amazing

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It can be neuropathic pain associated with nerve impingement.

As of now you can use analgesics/anti inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persists you can consult a neurologist and get evaluated, An MRI scan is required for further assessment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
