What Causes Recurring Red, Horseshoe Shaped Rashes On The Stomach Area?

Hello: I get red, horseshoe shaped rashes. I ve had them three times in the exact same place on my stomach/hip area, reoccurring. I ve had them twice on my stomach, also in the same place. I tried several creams that didn t work, and the Pharmacist recommended Cortisone, which seems to work, but very slowly. The start out as a small, itchy rash, and it grows to approx 3 in circle. After the cream, it goes away after about 2 weeks. I ve scratched so hard that I leave bruises. Help!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Your symptoms seem to be related to a ringworm infection.
I suggest using an antifungal cream for local application such as Clotrimazole cream.
I also suggest using Fluconazole 150 mg for one day.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
