What Causes Recurring Pain In Jaw Muscles Followed By Migraines?

This is just simple, but my jaw muscles hurt so badly sometimes I try to massage them and release tightness but they feel very tight and painful. I get daily head aches and migraines not always associated with my jaw pain but jaw pain always brings a head ache. How can I help it?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of recurring pain in jaw muscles followed by migraines . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like TMJ problem , bruxism , migraine or trigeminal neuralgia . I would suggest you to consult dentist for proper examination . Doctor may order OPG along with physical examination . Doctor may give night guard , extract wisdom tooth if problem is due to wisdom tooth . Doctor may also refer you to orthopedic surgeon for alignment of tooth or to neurologist for migraine ,who may prescribe vasograine , betablockers along with frusamide .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
