My father has a serious problem with nightmares, He is an 84 year-old Vietnam Vet with enough diagnoses to fill up a page and the same with meds, He was currently prescribed Aricept and his nightmares are reoccurring and have continued, Any suggestions please.

Hi,

Nightmares are due to anxiety which he is probably suffering from. Old age patients have also psychiatric issues.

Do one thing ask him to relax, entertain him, engage him in fun loving activities and never let him alone.

You also take him to a psychiatrist as he may need some drugs for a few weeks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
