What Causes Recurring Hiccups And Vomiting After Eating In Infants?

My baby is 8weeks old,has hiccups,vomiting half an hr after feed and after wards even in sleep,passing stools once in 2days,not sleeping properly when hiccups and vomiting occur in sleep and cries a lot at that time, sometimes feels uncomfortable till she vomits,can bonnisan help in this situation.

Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, the majority of the causes of hiccups and vomiting at an age of 8 are related to stomach contents reflux back into chest. My guidelines in such cases are:
- Burp the child over your shoulder for a period of minimum 30 minutes or till the child gets burp fully after the each feed, whatever period is longer
- Do not allow the child to lie down immediately after feed
- Take care that the child does not get prone or side wise during sleep
- Check to have regular smooth bowel evacuations on regular basis
- Do not allow formula feed, just stick to the breast feed only
