What Causes Recurring Headache?

For the past 3 months or so I ve been waking up at different times in the night with bad headaches, mainly around my temples on both sides. I started keeping track of my position when I woke up with the headaches and it seems to happen when I m on my back and my head is resting on my chin. I have also noticed that sometimes during the day while working on something that requires me to look down for awhile I get headaches. I can take 200mg of Ibuprophen and it seems to go away after a half an hour or so. I wanted to know if there might be something wrong and having my head in that position affects blood flow or something.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
I appreciate your concern
Looking at your history thus seems to be due to any of following conditions
High blood pressure
Giant cell arteritis of superficial temporal artery
Vascular headache

I would like further information to help you better like
Your age and sex
complete medical history like weight blood pressure or diabetes
Since how long do you have this problem?

In my opinion you should consult a neurologist for derailed examination and investigation like MRI and MRV
Meanwhile please follow these guidelines
Say no to alcohol and smoking
have adequate sleep for 8 hours
exercise regularly

Hope this answers your question
follow up questions ate most welcome
waiting for your response
Best wishes
