Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been having loss of balance symptoms for 2 years. They go away within a week or two and may not show up again for months. Three weeks ago the loss of balance returned however Meclazine 25mg did not cause it to go away. It becomes worse at night when in prolonged prone position, and I stagger to reach the bathroom, by noon it is mostly gone. I have had thre occasion this past week where severe dizziness abrubptly comes upon me after I have rotated my head 180deg, and has caused me to collapse. In 2 minutes it goes away, but I feel quite unstable and my vision jumps around for a while. Treatment or Tests??
As per my clinical experience, the balance issue can have multiple origins as central nervous system, ear conduction , cranial nerves, cervical spine issues and others including neurotransmitter disturbances. I would like to quote that you post your details of reports done till so far for the diagnosis so better prediction can be made with further need of the case evaluation. A narrow spectrum evaluation consists of MRI head and neck, audiometry and other supportive data facts and files to be checked in details.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
