What Causes Recurrent Tremors In The Hand?

Hello doctor.Iam 28year old i have shaking hands problem from childhood.....it not shake always...some time when i get nervous or sometime without knowing me....others notice this...it embarass me always....is there any medicines which helps me...my father too had this problem...to whom i have ot concern this problem..neuro or any other specialist...please let me know...is it curable or life long i have to b with this...please help me

Hi,

There are many causes of tremors, what your days very likely are " Essential tremors".

These are not serious. Fifty percent people have POSTIVE family history of such tremors.

Though it cannot be cured, Yes there are certain drugs that can help these tremors. Beta blockers like Inderal may be quite effective.

Though it's very likely to be essential tremors still we need a full history and examination to rule out other causes like Wilson or other rain disorders which are unlikely to be your case.

You may see your neurologist for best management.
