Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Recurrent Pulsating Sensation And Pain In Knees?
I can feel my pulse in the knee caps and I also feel like there is no blood flow to my legs...is that restless legs syndrome? It has become very regular. I do exercise 5 days a week, but have discontinued running because my knees hurt. I am only 35 am in good health otherwise.
The sensation of recurrent pulsating and pain in knee is suggestive of possible ligament sprain or strain and not related to restless leg syndrome for sure. My guidelines at present: - Continue walking and exercise, otherwise you will get more joint issues, though you have to limit amount of activity till pain level at present - Local application of ice pack 5 minutes each 3 times a day - Analgesic spray containing diclofenac and camphor - Anti inflammatory medication as ibuprofen, tramadol hydrochloride for a period of 7-10 days
Consult your doc later on for follow up progress and guidelines in this instance.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
