What Causes Recurrent Painful Lump In The Ear And Left Eyebrow?

I had a painful lump appear in my left eyebrow 2 days ago. Thought it needed squeezing in case it had something inside; worse now & moved down the eyebrow. Also, area all under brow was swollen when I got up this morning. Prior to this lump, I got one in front of my ear which caused pain down the jawline. It s a little better. Prior to that, I had an earache in that left ear which is ok, but not quite right. Also, I burned my forehead 4 days ago & instead of applying salve, I painted the liquid bandage on it; after 3 days, I got that bandage off; it s worse & my entire face hurts like a bad headache. Today, I started Benadryl & neosporin & cleaning all areas 4 times daily. I m worried about all this. Please help.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of recurrent painful lump on ear and left eyebrow which seems that due to sudden traumatic injury due to which there is rupture to peripheral blood vessels and accumulation of blood into the soft tissues leading to hematoma.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply cool compresses or ice packs over the lump in area around ear and left eyebrow. You should take anti inflammatory painkiller medications like Ibuprofen. Avoid touching or pricking it with any sharp object. Visit general physician once if symptoms keeps on persisting and start treatment after thorough examination. Apply topical anti inflammatory medications as well.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
