Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My sister has seen 3 doctors for the same problem. She has intermittent recurring pain in both under arms. Sometimes there is a red spot or what looks like bruising but comes on and disappears very suddenly. Sometimes there is a bump and/or swelling. She has not had any recent trauma or changed deodorant and she hasn t shaved in weeks because one of the doctors told her to stop but that isn t helping. She has been given three different antibiotics but even if the symptoms go away for a while they always come back and before the antibiotic is done. Her blood work has come back normal although I do not have details on exactly what that means. She is waiting to see a dermatologist when the symptoms are in full swing but meanwhile we are worried we are losing time. Most things are handled better if caught early and these doctors seem to have no idea and be taking their sweet time. Any ideas we could bring to the table would be a step in the right direction.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
May I know how old is she? Because according to the symptoms you are describing she might be having lymphadenopathy and that might be due to various causes. I would suggest you get a fnac or a biopsy of the swelling. That ll help you identify the cause.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
