What Causes Recurrent Pain In Left Armpit?

pain in left armpit, very top of underside left arm, and left shoulder blade. I don t feel any swelling, although I have a swollen feeling under the arm, nor do I feel any lumps. what types of things would cause this. It started a couple of years ago and comes and goes, sometimes months in between and lasts for 1-2 weeks.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain in collar bone . Well the armpit pain mostly is due to the lymphadenitis with lymphangitis, lymes disease. It could simply be chronic-staph infection with furuncle in armpit. I would suggest you to consult general practitioner for proper examination . Doctor may order certain tests like ultrasound , blood test , examine tenderness and consistency , sometimes doctor may also order mammogram . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with anti inflammatory . Doctor may also refer you to radiotherapist . For now apply warm compresses to armpits and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
