General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The issue of recurrent nightmares with hyperventilation suggest most possible disorder as anxiety dreams from underlying stress to significant amount affecting REM sleep of the normal sleep cycle.

The same should be addressed to consultant psychiatrist for detailed evaluation and precise management with antidepressant medications with supportive counselling.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
