What Causes Recurrent Itching All Over The Body And Scalp?

I have itching all over by body but mainly in my hair on the top of my head and also in my pubic hair. I can t see anything at all, and I have looked over & over, and the itching comes and goes. I don t see any bites (anything that bites me always leaves an ugly mark as I m very sensitive to mosquito/tick/chigger bites) and there is no rash. I have good hygiene and my wife has no symptoms. If I don t itch for a while and then take a shower or run a brush trough my hair then the itching starts immediately, not only in my hair but also on areas of my skin. Any idea what this might be?

Possible causes of body itches in your case may include:
-Dry skin
-Internal diseases like liver disease, kidney failure, iron deficiency anemia, thyroid problems and cancers, including leukemia and lymphoma...
-Nerve disorders
-allergic reactions
I will suggest you get an anti-histamine like benadryl and a steroid like prednisolone and observe.If symptoms persist, you see the Dermatologist for examination and investigations.
