Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Last week, I was awaken in the middle of the night by a sharp pain in my right hip. Any movement I made caused the sharp pain to intensify. I was finally able to pull my knee up to my chest and the pain went away. Since then, I have experienced the same pain two times after standing from a sitting position. The pain is sharp and intense. It gets worse if I try to stand straight up or straighten my leg. If I can bring my leg up (knee to chest) or crouch so my knee and chest are brought together, the pain goes away when I slowly straighten myself out. Do you know what is wrong? Oh, I am female and am 53 years old.
