What Causes Recurrent Headaches And Body Tremors In An Alcoholic?

My husband is having health issues and so far they have not found the problem. He is having headaches. His body shakes and he has mood swings. He is an alcoholic. He says he feels like his heart is beating out of his chest. They have ruled out anything to do with his heart.

Hello,

The symptoms you have mentioned are of alcohol withdrawal. Your husband may be dependent on alcohol. He requires de addiction therapy at present. If possible get him admitted for few days and once he is abstinent then you can give him anti-craving medicines like Acamprosate which reduces craving for alcohol.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prashant Gohil
