What Causes Recurrent Fever?
My son is 33 years old and has experienced re-occurring fever, chills, body aches and flu-like symptoms at least 4 times since last December. Would you have ideas or suggestions for him. The symptoms come on quickly and it takes him two to three days to feel better. thanks

Hi,
It may be repeated episodes of malaria or enteric fever or relapsing fever or periodic fever syndrome or connective tissue disorders or retroviral diseases or tuberculosis etc. Ineffective endocarditis or urinary tract infection may also present like this.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Please get investigate for CBP, malaria, Widal, blood cultures and urine culture etc.. Use tablet Paracetamol thrice a day for five days.
