What Causes Recurrent Fever While Suffering From Bronchitis?

Hi- I was diagnosed with bronchitis today. Prior to that, I had a fever for 3 days. 103 was my highest temp. Now, after starting prednisone/antibiotics, my temp was at 97.9 all day, and is now 96.9. Is that at all normal? I ve had bronchitis many times in my life, and I have never experienced these types of fevers with it. When I was at 97 earlier, I took a nap, and woke up like I had just been thrown in a pool.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Yes, unfortunately there can be intermittent fever, some persons may have fever that occurs at only some points of the day eg at night only

With continued treatment with your medications, the temperature should stabilize and remain in normal range.
This can take up to a week in some cases.

If the cough is wet, you may also need medication to break up the mucus.

I hope this helps
