What Causes Recurrent Fever And Constipation After A Hernia Surgery?

for the past three days, I have been having these symptoms- head aches, fever, weakness, lack of appetite, constipation. Motrin has helped relieve the fever, but then it comes back. the first night , I had chills. I m a 75 year old male and I have always been very healthy. A little over a month, I had a hernia operation on my stomach. Yesterday, I took a laxative.
