Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Bleeding from the rectum think it was caused by hemorrhoids has happened twice in the last week. Stopped the next time I went to the toilet. Have had this happen a few times over the past 40 years. I have annual check-ups my doctor is aware of this seems not to be a problem. Should I be more concerned. I am 81 years old and in good health. My email is YYYY@YYYY . thank you Brent Mahoney.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Thanks for the query. I understand your concern. Rectal bleeding needs to be treated&stopped... be it just haemorrhoide .You had it many times in last 40 years... *I would suggest anexpert consultation by an ano rectal surgeon to confirmm the diagnosis/excluding malignancy ( which is possible in old age)&also getting specific treatment. Thanks
