What Causes Rashes To Spread Despite Taking Prednisone?

My Dr. and I both think my rash is from poison ivy, or oak. I am taking predisone pills. However, the rash breaks out on parts of my body that never were exposed to plants. I am trying to avoid scratching, touching as much as possible. Can the rash spread by other means?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

Rash caused due to poison ivy or oak cannot spread to other parts of body & should heal on taking prednisolone. If the rash is spreading to parts of my body that were not exposed to plants, this means reasons of rash might be other.
Most common is fungal infection. It spreads by touching with other body parts. Antifungal ointment would be helpful in this case.
Other reason may be systemic diseases like psoriasis, eczema & impetigo may also be cause of the rash.
