What Causes Rashes On The Body After Taking Metoclopramide Shot?

Hi good evening I was on a cruise and our boat almost capsized so I had heart palpitations, vomiting anxiety etc so they gave me 1 injection while in the ICU on the ship. The paperwork they provided shows I was given metoclopramide 5MG and ranitidine 25MG I wasn t aware that they mixed the 2 because I only received one injection. Is it normal to mix medications and give one injection? I am having hives and wondering what s causing them

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Yes metoclopramide and ranitidine are physically compatible to be mixed in a syringe.
You are having hives because you may be allergic to one of them.
You can take benadryl or citerizine to stop spreading hives.
If they dont get better go to ER for prednisone and adrenaline shot.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
