What Causes Rashes From The Chest Down The Body?

I recently had a rash covering my body from my chest down. No itching or raised bumps, just large patches. I was given 10mg prednisone that cleared the rash up nicely. However, I am on day 3 of being off the prednisone and I am seeing the rash returning..

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Allergy can be the cause of the rash so it is important to notice if there is any relation of the rash with any food or chemicals (soap, shampoo, creams, perfumes, etc) that you might be using and makes it worse.

Meanwhile, you will need to use some Loratadine to help with the symptoms and you should see the doctor as soon as possible if you have an eye or lip swelling or if any shortness of breath.

Steroids (prednisone) can be used to help with the rash if it is not responding to Loratadine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
