General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms of your baby seem to be related to impetigo which is a highly contagious infection. The baby's skin will need an antibiotic ointment applied to it daily. It is equally important to maintain basic hygiene by using warm water and gentle cleansers every day. If the infection is severe, an oral course of antibiotics may also be needed. In such a case, you should consult your doctor.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
