What Causes Rapid Heart Rate Along With Breathlessness?

I have been experiences shortness of breath, rapid heart rate, tightness in the chest which leads to coughing when I run up stairs or hike or lift something heavy, etc... I went for an angiogram but everything is normal with my heart. What could be causing these symptoms?

Hi,

Shortness of breath, rapid heart rate, tightness in the chest - all the symptoms cannot be correlated to heart, in pulmonary hypertension, asthma, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and anxiety will have the same above symptoms.

A proper history and clinical evaluation will rule the condition. Kindly visit your physician to take a proper history and clinical examination to fix the issue.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Senthilnathan Subramanian,
