What Causes Purple Discoloration And Swelling In The Knuckle?

Last night I punched a wall by accident. My knuckle turned purple and has gone a bit swollen. It really hurts when I press it or move my fingers however I can make a fist but in a lot of pain. Also my knuckle creaksand I feel a popping sensation when I move my finger. It s my middle finger on my right hand.

Hi,

Please get the x-ray of knuckle as there may be linear fracture. Till then avoid exertion of the body part. You may take anagesic as Aceclofenic or Ibuprofen.
