What Causes Purple Bruise On Skin In Infants?

My 2 year old son has a purple bruise with a white center. When I touch the White centre I can feel a bump or knot under the skin. He isn t feeling any pain and the bruise is yellowing, I cannot see any puncture, but we are worried about the knot which isn t going away. What could it be?

By what you quote I feel that it could be a hematoma and if it has occurred spontaneously, then it points out to a diagnosis of bleeding disorder either acquired or congenital. This requires evaluation.

But...Skin conditions are best diagnosed only after seeing directly. I suggest you to upload photographs of the same on this website, so that I can guide you scientifically.
