What Causes Puffy Line Around A Red Wound?

I fell down some steps and scraped my foot over two weeks ago and recently completed a one week course of antibiotics. I apply neosporin 4 times a day but one of the wounds is red in the middle and is surrounded by a kind of white puffy line . Is this normal--should I return to my doctor...it doesn t seem to be healing as fast as the other wounds on my foot. Thank you

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear Patient,
each wound has its depth and no two are alike, so the time taken may vary, wound heal by epithalization from the sides, and if too much granulation is formed it hampers this process. As you feel that your wound is not healing, I would advise you to see your doctor,
I feel if there is too much of granulation, than you will need scraping of the wound, and may be skin graft if wound is big enough.
Thanks
