What Causes Prominent Veins In The Lower Legs Post A TKR Surgery?

I had a TKR on Sept 26. Today I noticed my blood vessels popping out in the front and back of my legs below the knee. Also my leg and knee is warm. Not hot like after surgery. I have pain in my ankle also. Any recommendations. I do my exercises and ride a stationary bike but I don t overdo it.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to varicose vain. I recommend using anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen three tablets a day.

I also recommend to practice leg elevation while sitting or sleeping, I suggest using compression stockings.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
