What Causes Prolonged Menstrual Cycle And Lower Abdominal Pain?

I ve had a period for 31 days straight. Its heavy and has large clots. Before that, I spotted, off and on for two months. I have lower abdominal pain, cramping, and some pelvic pain. I m tired all the time. How can I make it stop? I am 40 years old. I have had two children.

Hello,

Prolonged or heavy bleeding warrants a visit with your doctor, especially because you are feeling dizzy and this may be a sign of anemia due to bleeding.
Your doctor needs to do a gynecological exam and also a transvaginal ultrasound.
After these tests, the doctor will be able to determine the cause. If there are no structural problems (no endometrial mass or thickening and no cervical lesions) the doctor may give you progesterone to help control the bleeding.
