General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
Prolonged hiccups is due to acid reflux.
Lack of activity and antibiotic cause acid reflux that irritate the lower end of esophagus and produce hiccups.
Take following advise:
Syrup mucaine gel 30 minutes before meal
Take plenty of dietary fibres
During episode: take very small sips (as small as possible) to initiate the swallowing actions and help in the reducing the hiccups
Tablet baclofen also useful if not responds to above advises.
Hope this may help you
