What Causes Prolonged Bruising On The Ankle Post Trauma?

Hello, I am a 19 year old woman. A couple of months ago i tripped on a cable and hit my leg with the bottom of a fan, since then my bruise became lighter but up to now i can still see the color difference of my skin in that area, and also I started working in housekeeping and i am often on my knees and i ve been getting so many bruises next to my ankle but they seem to not heal, instead i just keep getting more and more and it looks gross. I would like to know what may be the vause for this? Specially for my age.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Spontaneous bruising on ankles without any history of trauma needs to be investigated.
Spontaneous bruising can occur due to abnormality of clotting factors or connective tissue disorders.
Clotting factor disorders can be screened by performing prothrombin time (PT), INR and activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT).
These investigation screen for any abnormality in intrinsic or extrinsic pathway of coagulation.
If any of these tests is found to be abnormal, you need to consult a hematologist for further evaluation and thus management.
If both the tests are found to be normal, the local site needs to be examined to look for any connective tissue or skin disorder.
I suggest you to consult a dermatologist in that situation.

Thanks and take care
