What Causes Pricking Sensation And Pain In Left Arm And Shoulder?

Hi, I am having pins and needles in my left arm with a little pain in my upper back arm and my left shoulder blade is also bothering me. I do have issues with my shoulder blades at times due to neck issues but the numbness in my arm is new.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI,
Thanks for asking. I understand your concern.
Pricking sensation in your left arm, shoulder & back of arm can be due to pressure or pinching of nerve supplying the part because of-
- Cervical spondylitis / disc problem./ shoulder joint problem.
- Cervical rib on left side The diagnosis will be examination by an orthopedic surgeon & X ray cervical spine/ neck region.
Treatment would be by physiotherapy/ vitamin B12, anti inflammatory drug/ surgery in non responding cases.
Thanks
