What Causes Pricking Pain And Bump Under The Skin Of Cheek?
I feel a needle like prick when i rub my flinger on my cheek. The needle like pain is under the cheek skin. Now a bump is coming out after feeling this for a few months. The needle like prick can still be felt when I rub the small bump on my skin. What is this?
The symptoms you mention in query are pointing towards infection of salivary gland specially parotid gland . It is located in each cheek over the jaw in front of the ears. Inflammation of parotid gland is called parotitis . There can be many cause for swelling of parotid gland like Blockage from salivary duct stones , poor oral hygiene and some underlying infection. I would suggest you to consult oral surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan , blood teats or MRI to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics or ant viral drugs depending upon the diagnosis , there is also a option of surgical removal in complicated cases . Maintain good oral hygiene and give warm compresses to that area.
Hope your concern has been resolved. Get Well Soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
