What Causes Pressure In The Throat And Chest After Eating Snap Peas?
My friend had what he thinks was an allergic reaction to sugar snap peas. He is known to be allergic to peanuts. He began to have a very tight feeling in his throat and a lot of pressure in his chest which he described like balancing with your chest on a spike . He forced himself to throw up what he ate a few minutes ago and the feeling in his throat has started to go away and the feeling in his chest is mostly gone. Does this sound like an allergic reaction? Is there anything he should do or watch out for? He can t afford to go to the doctor and basically refused to seek medical treatment because he thinks he s okay.
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Since he is allergic to peanuts, an allergy to sugar snap peas is possible. He may not need to see the Doctor since symptoms are improving.I will advise he tries the following if symptoms persist: -Take an anti-histamine like loratadine -A steroid like dexamethasone -Take regular sips of water If symptoms persist after all these, he may see the Doctor. Hope this will help Best regards
