Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Have been experiencing pressure in the breastbone area and leads to my left breast. It s not a pain but a throbbing sensation. I m burping/belching...which i ve never done before. My doctor put me on sulfracate and a prevalent and the issue still exists. I will return to my doctor but i m extremely concerned it could be something more serious.
Because the pressure behind the chest bone is associated with belching and burping very likely this is due to acid reflux from the stomach. One of the best medications for it is PPI like omeprazole and esomeprazole so I would encourage you to talk with your doctor to prescribe one of these for you.
On the other side, you may ask your doctor to have an ECG done on you just to make sure the heart is good. The chances are there is no problem with your heart but this would be done just for peace of mind.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
