What Causes Pressure Behind The Eyes While On Amoxicillin For Sinusitis?

Hi, I am being treated for a sinus infection now after all other medications failed to help my sinuses clear. I started amoxicillin 1000 mg twice a day yesterday and my sinuses seemed to feel better. However this afternoon, the pressure came back behind my eyes and both eyes are bloodshot. Should I be worried?

Hi,

The pressure behind the eyes is common in sinusitis. You should continue to take amoxicillin as advised by doctor. I think you should take even antihistamines such Benadryl or Citerizine for inflammation. Also taking prednisone can help to lower the inflammation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
